While we can all participate in Jesus' Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) regardless of our level of education, specialist roles such as Bible translation require multiple years of education before a person even begins the process of translation. Additionally, some countries do not allow traditional missionary work and so believers called to those countries must have professional qualifications and degrees.
The cost of acquiring these skills and knowledge are often funded via student loans, and the requirement to pay down these loans can delay a person's departure. The GO Fund works with missionary partners to make payments to their student loans on their behalf. They primarily focus on individuals working in areas considered unreached or hard to reach.
